All custom homes represent a new start. After all, you can create a comfortable environment for you and your family. While townhomes are relatively modest, that doesn’t mean they can’t be as grand as a historic mansion that you’ve always admired – or perhaps made your wedding venue! So if you want to buy a townhome, then you shouldn’t hesitate to do it!
Townhomes are often clustered together into tight-knit communities where, at least in theory, all the neighbors know each other. If you remember the feeling of being friendly with floormates and hallmates you met during your college days, then this idea will probably bring back some fond memories. Parks and trails are fantastic ways to spend time out in nature while still being able to socially distance, which is one of the most important things you can do right now. Also, many townhome designs give you the feeling where you are in the bustling center of a major city – except you still have some room to breathe and aren’t too far removed that you can’t use ridesharing services or public transportation to get around.
Another great reason to put a down payment on your home – particularly a townhome – is that there isn’t as much maintenance involved. While it’s true that renters can rely on their landlords or management companies to provide maintenance services, townhomes are different from apartments. Even if they exist in the same communities, both residential structures have different needs. One thing of note, though, is that townhomes simply don’t call for as much upkeep as single-family homes do.
Older homes can be upgraded and adapted to include the latest technology – such as voice-activated robot assistants (Hi Siri and Alexa!) but newer homes have these features built into them – so if you have been eager to get your hands on refrigerators that can connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth, WiFi slow cookers that you can start and stop while you’re out running errands, and dishwashers that automatically cycle on after you walk away (once it’s full, of course!) then you can take advantage of all of this.
Everyone wants to save some money, especially in leaner times when budgeting tightly is an unenviable necessity. Townhomes are, in general, more affordable than single-family homes, and with all of the money you save, you’ll be able to focus on the finer details of your home’s interior and exterior.
